Selected to perform in a master class for Pic Sullivan, Professor of Saxophone at Northwestern University, at the 2023 Atlanta Saxophone Day.

March 2023:
Selected as winner of the US Naval Academy Band Call For Scores with “Sinfonietta” (Chamber Winds)
Second place in the Northwest Horn Symposium Composition Contest with “Onward!” (Horn Quintet)
August 2023:
Finalist in Reno Pops Composer’s Showcase with “Three Nevada Portraits” (Orchestra)

Karen Lee (BMus ‘24, Music Therapy) presented her research titled, “Pre-Professional Healthcare Undergraduate Students’ Perception of Music Therapy: A Pilot Study” at the Southeastern Regional Conference of the American Music Therapy Association this past spring. She also received the Internship Scholarship award from the Music Therapy Association of Georgia this past spring.

Leonardo Lopes (DMA ‘25) was appointed double bass instructor on faculty at Kennesaw State University this academic year.

Iris Marcipar (DMA candidate, ‘24) was appointed double bass instructor on faculty at University of North Georgia this year. Marcipar also performed and conducted the first performance of the Latin American Music Ensemble on November 14, 2023. (Pictured above, left, with Sebastián Araya, right)

Sarah Secrist (BMus ‘24, Music Therapy) presented her research titled, “Perceptions of Music Therapy Students on Working with Older Adults: A Pilot Study” at the Southeastern Regional Conference of the American Music Therapy Association this past spring.
