Meet our String Project Teachers

Ms. Chloe James

Ms. James is a Music Education Major in her 4th year at the University of Georgia. She has played the violin for 17 years, and most enjoys playing with Mrs. Jennifer Norris and the Athena Quartet. Teaching music has been her dream career since she went to high school and was a teaching assistant for the Roswell High School Freshman Orchestra. In college, she has enjoyed many teaching opportunities, all around Athens and the surrounding counties, presented her research at UGA's CURO Symposium, and has taught with the UGA String Project since her freshman year. Outside of music, Ms. James enjoys reading, poetry, playing Stardew Valley, traveling wherever she can go, and drinking copious amounts of coffee. Go Dawgs!

Ms. Athziri Moreno-Martinez

I am Ms. Moreno-Martinez, and I am a 4th year Music Education major here at UGA. I am so excited to help these students grow their musical skills so they may play music that brings them joy. Fun fact: I love the show “Steven Universe” and love to do Sudoku puzzles!

Mr. Prhust Saleh

Hi! My name is Mr. Saleh and my primary instrument is Viola! I’ve been playing viola for about 8 years now, and violin for about 2 years. I’m super excited to teach, meet students, other teachers, and spread music and joy! I’m from a Kurdish family, but grew up in Snellville, GA. I just recently transferred to the University of Georgia as a music education major, making this year my 3rd year of college. One fun fact about me is that I love cats! I would love to turn into a cat if I could.

Ms. Lily White

Ms. White is a second-year Music Education major at the University of Georgia. Originally from Lawrenceville, Georgia, she has been playing viola for eight years and performs with the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra. She serves on the UGA CNAfME executive board and is a member of the UGA chapter of the American String Teachers Association. Ms. White is excited to help students build confidence and create a space where they can express themselves through music. In her free time, she enjoys baking, crafting handmade cards, reading, and watching musicals.
