All prospective First-Year music majors (regardless of specific emphasis) who audition during the spring audition season–just prior to their intended first fall semester at UGA–are automatically considered for performance-based music scholarships.
Consideration for a music scholarship is based solely on the audition itself; no additional forms are necessary.
Music scholarship amounts can range rather widely, from $250 per year up to $2500 per semester (current instrumental/vocal studio enrollment and number of applicants for that specific studio in a given year play a major role in determining the music scholarship funds available each audition cycle).
Music scholarships are renewable if the requirements of the scholarship contract are maintained by the recipient.
Please note: music scholarships are not available to music minors through the main School of Music audition process. However, wind, brass, and percussion students (whether they be music majors, minors, or students not currently pursuing a music-related degree plan) have the opportunity to be considered for scholarship through participation in the Redcoat Marching Band. Please email email@example.com for further information.
For a list of non-music scholarship opportunities, please see the UGA Undergraduate Admissions website.
