September Thursday Scholarship Series concert features legends, history, superstition

The University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra (UGASO) begins its season with a concert in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music’s premier concert series, the Thursday Scholarship Series, in Hodgson Concert Hall on September 8 at 7:30 p.m.


School of Music alum earns faculty position at Reinhardt University

Cody Brookshire, a MM Composition graduate of and DMA Composition candidate at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, has accepted an adjunct/part-time music faculty position at Reinhardt University.


UGA School of Music student wins International Clarinet Association competition

Ivan Hernandez, a DMA Performance – Clarinet student at the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music, won the International Clarinet Association’s Orchestral Audition Competition at the University of Kansas’ Inge Memorial Hall on August 5.


UGA professor of cello opens Hugh Hodgson Faculty Series

The UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music opens the 2016-2017 edition of its prestigious Hugh Hodgson Faculty Series with David Starkweather, the School’s professor of cello, performing in Ramsey Concert Hall on Tuesday, August 30, at 8 p.m.
