Student Composer Association Recital #1

Student Composers Association
Dance Center Black Box Theatre Hugh Hodgson School of Music
Free Events

Join the Student Composers Association for our first student recital of the school year featuring a variety of brand-new works by our UGA composers! This event takes place Friday, October 13th at 6PM in the Dancz Center for New Music (HHSOM rm. 264). Visit our social media, @ugacomposers, for more information. This event will be streamed on the Dancz Center for New Music YouTube page.

The Student Composers Association at the University of Georgia is home to more than forty composers, including graduate and undergraduate students. Writing for a diverse array of media, the composers at UGA create work ranging from symphonic to electronic music.  Students have access to cutting edge music technology and state of the art facilities in the Dancz Center for New Music.  All students participate in weekly private lessons from accomplished and experienced faculty, as well as a seminar for the discussion of pertinent and controversial issues in the field.  The association promotes the performance of student works in SCA recitals and the annual Loop 10 project where student composers are challenged with themed interdisciplinary projects, often bringing them into collaborations with creatives in non-musical fields.
