Two Hugh Hodgson School of Music professors, Levon Ambartsumian (violin) and Evgeny Rivkin (piano), join together to deliver the sounds of Russia in Ramsey Hall on Thursday, February 15th at 8 p.m. The program features music by Glinka, Alyabyev, Khachaturian, and Schnittke. The order of the program will progressively depict the musical styles from the 19th Century to the modern era.

Both professors joined the faculty at University of Georgia in 1995 and have performed numerous times in all of the Hodgson School’s venues. Outside of UGA, the Ambartsumian and Rivkin duo have recorded several commercially-released CDs and recordings. They are also active in collaborating together while traveling internationally to perform.

This performance is presented admission-free and is open to the public.
