The Hugh Hodgson School of Music and the piano area are pleased to welcome distinguished guest artist Judith Gordon. Since making her New York City recital debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ms. Gordon has performed across the country and collaborated with many of the leading musicians of today including Yo-Yo Ma, John Harbison, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, Cynthia Phelps, and Peter Serkin. In 2009, she received an Outstanding Alumni Award from the New England Conservatory in Boston and is currently an associate professor of piano at Smith College, MA.

Ms. Gordon will be performing in a duo piano recital with UGA faculty Liza Stepanova, an assistant professor of piano. Stepanova says: "I am so excited about this program and a chance to collaborate with Judith. We have selected some of the greatest works in the repertoire: Mozart's effervescent Sonata for Two Pianos (the first major work for this combination), John Adams's exuberant "Hallelujah Junction," and Bela Bartok's stunning Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion. I am particularly happy about the Bartok because it gives us a chance to work with some of HHSOM wonderful graduate students: DMA candidates in percussion Denis Petrunin and Nathan Tingler."

The performance, headlined "Two Pianos Plus"  This concert is presented admission-free.
