School of Music alum earns faculty position at Reinhardt University

Cody Brookshire, a MM Composition graduate of and DMA Composition candidate at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, has accepted an adjunct/part-time music faculty position at Reinhardt University.

Brookshire, whose works have been performed at events and venues in North America, England and China, will teach aural skills, music appreciation and composition at the 133-year-old liberal arts university, located in Waleska, Ga.

Just a few of the awards and distinctions earned by Brookshire include first place in the 2015 ElectroBrass National Composition Competition for "From Afar, Drawing Near"; first place in the 2014 Southeastern Composers League Composition Competition with his guitar trio, “Shrapnel,” and a semi-finalist nod in the 2013 American Prize in Composition for “Slumbers Kiss Your Golden Eyes,” a work for flute, viola, and harp. 

Brookshire has works recorded and released on Claudio Records, Good Static, and EMPiRES.
