Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

The UGA Symphonic Band takes the stage on Monday, Nov. 16, with a repertoire of modern music, spanning the years 1929 to 2005.

The concert, starting at 8 p.m. in Hodgson Concert Hall, is conducted by Dr. Michael Robinson, director of Athletic Bands, and is free to attend.

Rob Akridge, director of band festivals at the School of Music, and Dory Musselwhite and Matthew Sadowski, doctoral students at the School of Music, will serve as guest conductors during the concert.

The Symphonic Band is one of the larger bands at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, with a focus on classic band compositions as well as exciting new music. Its musicians are experienced undergraduate music majors, minors and non-majors from across campus.

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music sponsors more than 350 performances each year. To view the performance calendar, subscribe to the weekly email concert listing or learn more about the School of Music, go to music.uga.edu.
