Spring semester concerts open with Bulldog Brass concert

The Bulldog Brass Society, the premier graduate student brass quintet at the Univeristy of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music, will give the first concert of 2015 on Friday, January 9 at 6:30 pm in Edge Recital Hall.

The group features Geoff Wood and Anderson Romero (trumpets), Peter Riggs (horn), Matt Norman (trombone), and Rachel Matz (tuba). Selections include Sonata for Brass Quintet by Derek Bourgeois, Patrice Caratini's Passages, A Newfoundland Sketch by Howard Cable, and Enrique Crespo's Suite Americana.

The Bulldog Brass Society is coached by new trumpet professor Philip Smith, former principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic.
