The Hugh Hodgson School of Music welcomes back one of its own with a free guest artist concert from trombonist Dr. Jonathan Gill on Monday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m. in Edge Recital Hall.

Gill, who earned his bachelor’s degree in Athens, went on to earn his master’s and doctoral degrees and is now an adjunct professor of trombone, euphonium and tuba at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, as well as a successful freelance performer.

“We are very fortunate to have Jonathan on campus to share his experience and expertise with our students,” said Joshua Bynum, associate professor of trombone at the School of Music. "It's always great for current students to have the opportunity to get advice from the successful people who have come before them."

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music sponsors more than 350 performances each year. To view the performance calendar, subscribe to the weekly email concert listing or learn more about the School of Music, go to music.uga.edu.
