Ellen Ritchey is a part-time Instructor and the clinical coordinator for the music therapy program at UGA. She holds master's degrees in music and music therapy from Southern Methodist University and received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Georgia. She has practiced music therapy with geriatric, psychiatric, and IDD populations, and directed a music therapy internship in a psychiatric facility. She has given music therapy presentations in the United States and Canada, and served on the Clinical Training Committee of the National Association for Music Therapy. She is a member of the American Music Therapy Association, is certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapists, and is a Licensed Music Therapist in the state of Georgia.
Dr. Ritchey also maintains an active vocal performing career. She has been featured as a guest soloist with a number of university, local, and regional performing organizations.
