Tyler J. Goehring is the Limited-Term Lecturer in Music Education (Strings) and teaches courses in instrumental music education. He is also involved with the UGA String Project. He previously taught orchestra at multiple elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Florida. He continues to value the opportunity to work with students of all ages as an active clinician and adjudicator. Dr. Goehring earned his Ph.D. in Music Education and a M.M.E from Florida State University and a B.M. in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Goehring’s research explores the connections between music, education, and psychology. His interests include music teacher education and professional development, as well as the perception and cognition of string music performance. Goehring has presented his research at international, national, and state conferences and has published in Psychology of Music, String Research Journal, Update: Applications of Research in Music Education, and American String Teacher.
