Senior Orchestra Festival

The University of Georgia Orchestra Festivals (OrchFest) is a dual-ensemble event designed to provide instruction for advanced pre-college string students. They are held on the same weekend, early in the fall semester.  Under the direction of prestigious guest conductors, the festival includes rehearsals, coaching, and performance opportunities for students, as well as sectional rehearsals and master classes with University of Georgia string faculty.  When not rehearsing, young musicians attend recitals and participate in planned social activities including a cookout Saturday at noon.

Both the Junior Festival, a two-day event, and the Senior Festival, a three-day event, close with a concert in Hodgson Hall Saturday afternoon. The senior festival members are joined in performance with the woodwind, brass, and percussion sections of the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra.
